If you are looking for a modern-day etiquette book, this book will not suit you, but if you would be entertained to know how to properly invite ladies over for tea and what types of tea cakes to serve, or how to handle the staff of the house, or how to be a great house guest back in the olden times, you will love this book. I find it has enough and thorough information.
People these days do t know proper etiquette. This book is excellent to nderstand origins of why we do things the way we do. I read and shared with my teenagers to help them understand why we do certain things..
I have attended schools where Emily's books have been the text. This woman is the authority on etiquette, look no further.
I have always been interested in what this book said. Many people refer to the lessons and I wanted my own clarification.
The classic. The best. Everything you may have wondered about decent behavior. Is probably answered here! Such problems ..so many in this world...would be avoided if we made this a required read in say, the 12th grade. One can dream, right? No one is perfect but to care about not offending is a really really really good start, and actually the whole secret. Yes! Buy this book. Your confidence will soar.
